Whoahh, sorry for the lack of posts lately.. I've got exams coming up real soon, so my teachers are cramming mocks and essays and all that lot on to us now.
Anyway I was just curious about what you all think of petty rivalry's between colleges (and other establishments)
The reason I'm asking this is because I was on my bus the other day on my way to college and I saw a girl that went to my secondry school,, being nice i smiled at her, she completely sneered at me like i'd pushed her into a tub of custard or something. She then went on to complain - rather loudly I might add - to her mum about how everyone from my college "only goes there because they didn't get into" the college she goes to.
Now Hill's Road and Long Road have always had a rivalry between the two. Hill's thinks that anyone that goes to Long is stupid, failed exams and couldn't get into Hills and if you go to Long you think that they're all stuck up, arragont twits. (guess which one I go to ;) I was always the 'that's stupid, not all of them think that.' kind of person, i guess a sort of Switzerland until that bus journey... I don't agree completely with the 'stuck up snobs' at all but I think that a lot of them have changed. For instance the people I used to be friend's with ignore me now cause I don't go there and its a bit pathetic. But then at the same time my college can be just as bad - if not worse. What I don't understand is that the staff sort of encourage it sometimes. At the end of the day Hill's has always been the 'maths, science' school the 'smart' one and Long has always been the 'Arty, sports' college. They're both as good as each other. Just different.
My opinion is that everyone should be equal :) And that nobody should be judged for wanting to do something different, whether you want to be arty or book smart. It should be completely up to you.
So go and find your dreams because you're life is exactly that. YOURS. So go get 'em tigers!
